8.1Verified guest“Breakfast was more than adequate and savoury, with toast, cereal, cakes, and eggs and cheese available on request. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and always smiling. The location was great, close to Rome’s airport and main train stations, and we were allowed an early check-in. The main sights were about 15 minutes away on foot.”
8.1Verified guest“The room was spotless and practical, with two separate beds. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, including cheese, toast, cereals, cakes and eggs.”
8.1Verified guest“The hotel felt very central: Termini station was a short walk in one direction and the major sights about fifteen minutes in the other. At the discounted rate it was cheap by central Rome standards. The room had air conditioning, and breakfast was decent, with slices of tinned pineapple and plenty of croissants. Staff were very helpful. Soundproofing seemed excellent – I rarely heard other guests apart from occasional corridor noise. Noon checkout left plenty of time for a relaxed departure.”
8.1Verified guest“My wife and I stayed during the volcanic eruption, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, breakfast had plenty to eat, and the location was excellent for buses and trains. When the ash cloud stopped us from getting home, reception found us five nights at a sister hotel at a much reduced rate – that is what makes a good hotel great.”
8.1Verified guest“The location was decent, a short way from a pleasant historic square with good restaurants and touristy shops. Parking is really expensive though, and the parking staff are unfriendly at best. The garage, if you can call it that, is right next to the hotel.”
8.1Verified guest“Clean and good value for money. The location is also convenient, with a scooter rental shop nearby.”

The bottom line
Flower Garden Hotel is a well-run, central base rather than a destination in itself. Its best assets are the staff, the location and the clean rooms; its caveats are station-area noise, pricey parking and a sofa-bed setup in the quad. At the discounted rate, one guest called it cheap by central Rome standards, and the hotel’s 8.1 guest rating sits just below the Rome-area average of 8.7.
